Food: 8
Service: 4
Ambience: 5
Recommendation: Very Good. The lunch buffet here has an admirable selection of entrees, most of which stay true to the flavors of India.
India Palace is located in a strip mall section of Woodbury. Nick and a friend had a chance to sample their lunch buffet on a Sunday. This restaurant presents itself quite well, aesthetically. The restaurant itself is in good condition and the décor, although not exquisite, captures the essence of India.
The restaurant had about 8 selections in the buffet. The Kashmiri Chicken, cooked in a tomato cream sauce, was flavored well and tasted great with both the rice and the Naan (which could have been cooked a tad more). The Tandoori Chicken was moist and retained the flavored of the spices it is marinated in. We highly recommend the Onion Bhajia (fritters) and even though the Dal Makhani is good, it is not authentic. The Gulab Jamun (dessert) was one of the best we have had in the Twin Cities (the flavor of the syrup had permeated the dessert ball, which is what makes this dessert amazing). Service was poor – the only attention paid to us was to refill our glass with water and the servers (and host) had a very dull demeanor to them. A small course on the basics of customer service would help drive satisfaction tremendously. Although the buffet lacked a selection of meats (many other Indian buffets offer beef and lamb), the quality of the food was very good, especially given the fact that Indian restaurants struggle to bring forth a good buffet at a reasonable price.
$$. Lunch buffet for 1, with tax and tip was $11.![]()

I have eaten there atleast 10 times now and agree with most of what you have given as reviews. Nice work overall, is very helpful for new people like myself in town.
Thanks
Deepak
I would rate the place 4 on a scale of 10 - I am an Indian and this does not taste authentic Indian - plenty of compromise in food preparation.
The breads can be better cooked and the recipes for meats and veggies should be refined.
Average place overall!
